Record business results on our birthday 09/05/2019, Info
It’s fresh-range’s 5th birthday this month. We launched our online store back in May 2014 at the very first Bristol Food Connections festival. I persuaded a merry bunch of friends and family to join me on a stall selling Hobbs House Bakery scones with Rose Farm strawberry jam and Bruton Dairy clotted cream. It was a big event for the city co-hosted by the BBC with a marquee full of great local food producers – many of whom went on to supply us. And so, to mark our 5th anniversary fresh-range are proudly sponsoring the 2019 festival taking place at The Colston Hall in Bristol from the 12th to 23rd June.
Our growth has accelerated this year at fresh-range as more and more people are falling in love with sustainable, fresh seasonal produce. We’ve seen new customers increase by 26% and, perhaps more importantly, we’ve retained more customers who are shopping more frequently and spending more per shop than previous years. This has resulted in a chest thumping 47.7% increase in sales for the fresh-range retail home delivery store for the period Jan-April 2019 versus the same period year ago. A terrific result for a 5 year old business that relies so heavily on word of mouth for growth.
I would like to thank all of our customers for their determination to do their grocery shop away from the mass retailers and contribute to developing food security for our region by spending with vitally important food producers in this region. Equally, big thanks to the food producers who’ve shown such important support over the past 5 years.
