Meat that doesn't cost the earth 01/07/2020, Health & Lifestyle

The intensification of farming fuelled in part by our hankering for cheaper and cheaper food at the checkout has come at a staggering cost to human health, animal welfare, biodiversity, water and soil health. Our current food system has become one of the heaviest contributors to climate change emitting as much as 30% of Global Greenhouse Gases.

So, what can we do about it? We are grateful to Farm Wilder ambassadors Miranda Krestovnikoff and Chris Packham for their contributions to this film where they explain how critical it is to support local farmers rearing livestock sustainably. Cheap, intensively reared grain-fed meat may be cheaper at the checkout but it's doing incalculable damage to our planet. By eating less but better meat we can all turn the page on the mistakes of the past and move to a more sustainable future. For our health and the health of the planet, we need to change, now.
