A member of the pulse family, lentils can be found in cuisine from all across the globe. When cooked they add flavour and texture to soups, stews and curries such as the popular Parsi dish, Dhansak.
Lentils were one of the first cultivated crops. From the 'Laird' variety, these large lentils are usually grown in North America. No need to soak, simply cook for 25 min. / pressure cook for 8 min. Suitable for sprouting. Soak overnight and rinse daily. Eat after 3 days as a tasty salad addition.
