Unsalted Butter LongmanLife 11d+* V
Longmans make this traditional butter just north of Yeovil in the Vale of Camelot using milk from local herds. The unsalted butter is made using only sweet cream and is churned very slowly, so that it doesn’t cause air bubbles which can cause stale air to be trapped in the finished product. Then its hand rolled in house and lovingly packed.
What it lacks in shelf life (it doesn't have as long a shelf life as many supermarket butters due to the natural way it is produced and lack of preservatives) it makes up for in awards.
The most recent was “The Best Butter in Show” at The Nantwich International Cheese Show but previously it won, “Best Butter in Show” at the Frome Global Cheese Awards in 2012 and “Best Butter in Class” at The Royal Bath and West Show 2013.
This beautiful butter has a distinctive texture and flavour for cooking or simply spread on toast.
