Dawkins Ales Bristol

Dawkins is a West country brewer producing delicious award-winning beer in Timsbury near Bath and Easton in Bristol. The brewery is built on traditional values and recipes, but also has an innovative edge. Brewery founder, Glen Dawkins grew up in Sheffield, Yorkshire, and moved to Bristol in 1991 where he started to manage wine stores. In 2002, he took his first lease for The Miner’s Arms in St Werburghs. More pubs followed and then in 2010 Dawkins bought a brewery which had been brewing exclusive beer for his pubs. This was the beginning of Dawkins Ales. In December 2012 Dave Williams joined the company, and since then, the brewery has gained recognition and has won more and more regional and national awards.

In April 2014 their Bristol Blonde won the category Gold in the region’s biggest beer contest, and overall Bronze out of over 250 entries! It won again the following year, alongside the Foresters Black and bottled Ultra. Their most recent triumph was three Golds at the SIBA Maltings Beer Festival in Newton Abbott in April 2017. Dawkins Ales new brewery in Easton, Bristol, means they can produce more beer and support more local businesses around their core customer base - so all good!  They choose the highest quality hops and malts and never use artificial additives on the quest for the perfect pint!
